Inbetweeners Golf Society: A Day of Sunshine at El Plantio Golf Course Inbetweeners Golf Society: Match Report – 2nd April at El Plantio Golf Course! This week, members of the Inbetweeners Golf Society gathered at their home course, El Plantio, for another enjoyable day of golf. The morning began on a slightly chilly note, but by the time the first group reached the 7th tee, conditions had turned perfect—warm sunshine paired with a gentle breeze, creating an ideal setting for the round. The course was in excellent shape as always. The fairways were immaculate, and the greens showed significant improvement following their recent spring maintenance, which certainly helped contribute to some impressive scoring across the field. The Day’s Winners were: “Congratulations to our top three finishers in today’s competition. In 1st place, with a superb 40 points, Sam Williamson – and that score earns a handicap cut! In 2nd place, just one point behind on 39 points, Carl Radcliffe. And in 3rd place, with 38 points, Roy Harris – Another great round resulting in a handicap cut. Well played, gentlemen!” Nearest the Pin Heroes! The Inbetweeners at El Plantio – Mundibuilt Trophy This week, members of the Inbetweeners Golf Society were playing for the Multibuilt Texas Scramble Trophy, kindly donated by Multibuilt owner Terry Whitehead. The Society gathered at their home course, El Plantío, for a team Texas Scramble played using Stableford scoring. Every One Is Welcome Teams were thoughtfully balanced, pairing higher-handicap players with lower-handicap members — a combination that proved successful and contributed to some impressive scoring across the field. In true Inbetweeners tradition: As ever, the course was presented in excellent condition. The greens were quick and featured subtle contours, making putting a real challenge. Several players took the opportunity to pick up valuable tips from some of the Society’s more experienced members. In true Inbetweeners tradition, the day proved to be another thoroughly enjoyable occasion — featuring moments of genuine quality, the occasional questionable decision, and, above all, excellent company throughout. This Week Texas Scramble Winners: 1st Place: Playing off a 20 handicap, Team Ruud Van Meggelen alongside Loes Klinkenberg, Bertrand LaFont, and David Perkins, recorded an impressive 54 points. Texas Scramble 2nd Place Team 2nd Place: With a combined handicap of 22, Team Francis Heselmans, featuring Frank Cullen, Mark Leigh, and Markku Niva finished with 49 points. Texas Scramble 3rd Place Team 3rd Place: Playing off 19, Team Lesley Cullen, with Lynn Leigh, Joel Mortiers and new member Malcolm Thomas, secured 47 points on countback. FULL DETAILS OF ALL GAMES IN 2026 Match Report Lo Romero Golf Course 26th February 2026 Inbetweeners Golf Society: A Day of Sunshine at Lo Romero Golf Course The Inbetweeners at Lo Romero This week, members of the Inbetweeners Golf Society gathered at the prestigious Lo Romero Golf Course for another memorable outing. A civilised late-morning tee time allowed the slightly younger members to loosen up with plenty of practice on the range and putting green, while the more seasoned campaigners opted for a relaxed build-up, enjoying a coffee or two in the warm sunshine. The course was, as ever, presented in magnificent condition and offered its customary stern examination — demanding accuracy from the tee, patience on approach, and, on occasion, a well-tuned sense of humour. Nowhere was this more evident than on the 18th, where the infamous island-style green once again produced plenty of “oohs” and “aahs” as hopeful approach shots attempted to carry the water and find dry land. In true Inbetweeners tradition, it proved to be another thoroughly enjoyable occasion for the Society — featuring moments of genuine quality, the odd questionable decision, and, above all, excellent company throughout.
